Restore and import: the whole map
Every way to get a wallet back into Epic Cash Mobile (phone) and Epic Cash Desktop: restoring from the recovery phrase, importing from older wallet software, and what happens to your payments, contacts and settings along the way.
This page describes the current development version of the apps. Most of the known issues listed here are fixed in the next update; each one says so.

The short version
- Your recovery phrase is the wallet. 12 to 24 words bring back your coins on any of our apps. Nothing else is needed for the balance.
- The balance comes back by searching the blockchain. This takes a while and needs a node. Keep the app open until it finishes.
- The blockchain does not hold your notes, labels, who you paid, or the fees. Those, and your contacts, invoices and settings, come back only from a history file (
.wfeh) you saved before, or, on the desktop, from an old wallet's own folder. - Settings are not in the phrase. Theme, language, nodes, Epicbox server and Advanced switches start at their defaults on a new device. A history file brings them back.
- Phone: a 6-digit PIN unlocks the wallet. There is no password to remember. Desktop: a password of 8 or more characters unlocks it. There is no PIN.
