4 · What happens to your data
A restore brings back the coins. Everything else depends on what you kept: a history file, a contacts file, or the old wallet's folder.

Payments
| Detail | Phrase only | Old wallet import (desktop) | Phrase + .wfeh |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coins received, still unspent | Yes, one row per coin | Yes | Yes |
| Payments you sent, coins already spent | No | Yes | Yes ("From backup" until matched) |
| Date | Date of the block | Yes | Yes |
| Fee | No | Yes | Yes |
| Who paid / who you paid | No, you can type it in | If the old wallet recorded an address | Yes |
| Method (Epicbox, Link, File…) | No, you can pick it | Guessed from the address | Yes |
| Notes, labels | No | None existed | Yes |
| Cancelled payments | No | Yes | Yes |

Rows rebuilt by the search have no sender, note or fee. You can add a label, who paid and the method yourself, and those are saved in the next history file.
Contacts
- A device has one address book shared by all its wallets (and both networks). Deleting a wallet leaves it in place.
- Importing never overwrites a saved contact's name, addresses or note. A contact that matches by any address gains the address kinds it was missing.
- From a history file: the whole address book of the old device, with its stars. From an old GUI wallet: name, Epicbox, HTTP and Tor addresses and the note come across. Other fields (keybase, proof address, country…) are dropped. Each address is sorted by what it is, not by the field it was in. A bad address is skipped. An address already on another contact is left out.
- A contacts file (Contacts › Import) must be for the same network as the wallet.
Paired contacts
Swipe sideways to see the whole diagram, or open it full screen to zoom.
- The keys of a paired contact are made from your phrase, numbered per contact.
- With a history file: the same keys, mailbox, trust and Verified mark come back. If the file says the pairings were in use on another device, the app asks whether to use them on this one.
- Without one: the contact has to pair with you again. Your wallet then finds the same keys from the phrase and the contact keeps its trust. Your own choices for that contact ("Allow invoices", sealing) go back to their defaults. Messages left in the old mailbox expire after 7 days.
- Pairing that was still waiting for the other side is not in the backup.
