Changelog
What changed in each version of Epic Cash Desktop and Epic Cash Mobile. Downloads are on the main page.
26.10.21
Windows, Linux and Android; macOS and iOS preview
Download it from the main page and install it over your current version: your wallets are kept. From this version on, updates show in the app again.
Better
- Updates now come from BT Labs' own server as well as GitHub: the app checks both and takes the newest signed one, so one being down no longer stops an update.
- The headline balance shows two decimals, cut down, never rounded up; the exact amount is a tap (phone) or a hover (desktop) away.
- Desktop: far less CPU while a payment is sent or confirms, especially on Linux without a graphics driver. Status icons stop pulsing after a few seconds.
- Android without Tor: the download is about half the size.
- Settings › Privacy › Use status.btlabs.uk says plainly what it does: shows which nodes and Epicbox servers are online, only downloads a public list, nothing from the wallet is sent.
- Help › Linked devices: both devices must already have the same wallet, restored from the same recovery phrase; linking does not create it on the other device.
26.10.20
Windows, Linux and Android; macOS and iOS preview
Phones update in the app and desktops show the update in the sidebar. The macOS and iPhone builds are new: see macOS and iPhone on the main page.
New
- Linked devices (experimental, on by default): one wallet on two devices, for example your phone and your desktop. Each sees the other's payments as they happen, and they never spend the same coins twice. Link them in Settings › Linked devices and check that the pictures match on both screens. Help › How linked devices work.
- Payments the same wallet made in another app show as Sent from another wallet or Received by another wallet. Until a balance check confirms one, it reads “unverified”.
- Minimum confirmations: choose how many blocks a payment needs before it counts, from 1 to 30 (Settings › Advanced). The default is now 6 (was 3).
- Connection servers (Settings › Advanced): the servers used for pairing and linked devices.
- Builds without Tor for Windows, Linux and Android: the same app with Tor left out completely.
- macOS and iPhone: first preview builds, unsigned.
Better
- Clearer, shorter words on both apps, one name for each thing. Message is what the recipient sees; Private note is yours alone and can be edited. Also: Epicbox server, transaction file, Max, Activity, locked.
- Send review shows your message as typed, and a payment's details say who each message is from.
- Status icons for Node, Epicbox, Tor and Link on both apps: green when on, with a dot for the connection (blue while connecting, red when down). Tap an off icon to turn it on.
- A payment that came without an address (QR code or file) says so in its details and suggests a label.
- Phone: long-press a payment to label it.
- Balance tiles show the same number of decimals, so the amounts line up.
- Desktop: a payment's details show Sent to or Received from, with Add to contacts.
- Pending pairing invites show when they were sent.
- Help: a Support development note with a button that copies the donation address, and the contact address support@btlabs.uk in Help and About.
Security
- Fixes from an independent security review of the wallet core, the network code and both apps, checked again by a new suite of hostile-input tests. Among them: an Epicbox answer is accepted only from the wallet the payment went to; a payment can no longer be cancelled while it is being posted; with Tor on, connections wait for Tor and never go direct; log files never hold a recovery phrase; the recovery phrase stays out of Android's clipboard preview and Windows clipboard history.
Fixed
- The node no longer drops out now and then (“connection closed before message completed”) and switches to another node for nothing.
- Desktop on macOS: a keychain that macOS refuses says what to do, instead of “Something went wrong”.
- Desktop: the recovery phrase step no longer draws its line over the words in a small window; the server list's Reset and Undo stay inside the window.
- Many small layout and wording fixes from a review of every screen.
Notes
- Phone payment notifications are paused: this version leaves them out.
- Wallet data is upgraded on first open. On Windows an older version can then no longer read the wallet's saved secrets; to go back, restore from the recovery phrase.
26.10.19
Windows, Linux and Android
Phones on 26.10.16 to 26.10.18 update in the app. Desktops on 26.10.18: click the small dot beside Help at the foot of the sidebar, then Update available. From 26.10.19 on, desktops show the update by themselves.
Better
- Desktop: a new version shows in the sidebar by itself (checked at start, then every hour). One click downloads and checks it, then Restart now installs it. Settings › About › Updates has the same button and the download page address.
- Phone: Send and Receive show the Node, Epicbox and Tor status in the top bar, so a dropped connection is seen before sending.
- Phone: the BT Labs donation contact is in Contacts, as on the desktop. A deleted one stays deleted.
- Desktop: the wallet data and CSV file names carry the start of the wallet's name, for example
epic-wallet-data-savings-mainnet-20261027.wfeh. - Desktop: Export CSV's first range is called All time.
- Pairing: shorter names for Invite by message in German, Polish and Russian, so they fit on small phones.
Fixed
- Send review shows a Tor address once, not twice.
- Desktop: an available update was only a dot beside Help, and About › Updates had no button.
26.10.18
Windows, Linux and Android
Desktops and phones on 26.10.16 or 26.10.17 update in the app. Coming from 26.10.15 or older: start fresh.
New
- Your own node: a node on this computer, your home network or a VPN shows as Your node, with its height against the network, version, latency and mempool asked from the node itself. Desktop: with the node's owner secret (Owner access › Add…), its Status and Peers too, with Ban and Unban. The secret stays in the system keyring and goes only to that node.
- Desktop: Settings use the width of big screens; the node page shows status and peers side by side.
- Desktop: the wallet's name is the title of Create and Restore, Wallet 1 until you change it with the pen.
- Pairing (experimental): Pair sits in the Contacts top bar and on each contact. Three ways: Words, Invite by message (send the invite, the reply and a finish link through any chat; the app spots a copied link by itself) and In person.
Better
- Sent amounts are red, received green.
- Phone: a restore scan or Recheck balance that the phone paused in the background goes on from where it stopped when the app is back.
- Phone: while a send confirms, its change no longer shows as Waiting for sender.
- Send lists Link from the start. With Link off, one tap turns it on.
- Desktop: Settings › Transactions shows each method's receiving details under its own switch, only while it is on.
- Desktop: the Welcome tour ends on Overview, also when closed early.
- Desktop: auto-lock offers Never in its list.
- Desktop: Unlock shows when each wallet was last opened, or its folder; the whole path on hover, with a copy button.
- File Transfer: the answer to a loaded file is named after it, for example
Abc-123.tx.response. - The history file is now called wallet data everywhere: Export wallet data, Import wallet data. The recovery phrase stays the backup.
- Desktop: Overview's Send button looks like Receive.
- Phone: Receive keeps the QR code covered until Show QR is tapped.
- Phone: one spinner while a send goes out.
- Phone: Request says Choose a contact or method.
- Pairing: an answer collected late still completes the pairing; an invite whose server cannot be reached says so; the other side waits for the finish and says Not completed if it never comes.
- Pairing: after a restore, keys that cannot be checked show as Keys changed at once. Removing a pairing tells the other side, which shows Removed by and offers Pair again.
- A payment sent through a contact's mailbox tells the receiver that it was posted.
- Export contacts includes contacts known only by a pairing (name and note) and says what the file holds.
Fixed
- A node on your home network shows its height, version and latency again.
- Desktop: editing a label no longer loses the text when the mouse moves.
- Linux: the taskbar shows the Epic Cash icon for the AppImage.
- Phone: a sealed payment request file from a paired contact opens and can be paid.
26.10.17
Windows, Linux and Android
Desktops and phones on 26.10.16 update in the app. Coming from 26.10.15 or older: start fresh.
New
- Desktop: its own title bar. The app menu has Lock wallet, Keyboard shortcuts, Copy build info and Quit; the wallet menu lists the wallets on this computer.
- Desktop: the sidebar shows what is happening now, such as a send, a payment arriving, a scan or the local node syncing. One click opens it.
- Desktop: the version sits under the logo. A click copies the build info for a problem report.
- Desktop: Forgot password? on Unlock sets a new password from the wallet's recovery phrase. The history stays and nothing is scanned again.
- Phone: payment request by QR, experimental (needs Invoices on). Receive › Direct · QR › Request an amount shows the request as a QR code; the payer scans it, pays and shows a reply code to scan back.
- Desktop: Help › Maintenance explains how to clean up old wallet folders.
Better
- History backup now carries everything a restore cannot bring back: payments with their messages and labels, contacts with their stars, invoices both ways, the wallet name and settings. Never the recovery phrase. Import is one step with one summary. Files from 26.10.16 still import.
- Restore: a restore from a start height, or one cut short, finishes by itself. The wallet shows Restore not finished and scans from the first block until it is done.
- A network that blocks the Epicbox server, for example with a content filter, now reads as Epicbox blocked, with another server one tap away.
- Before the first import from older software, a one-time warning asks for a backup of every wallet: its recovery phrase, and its files if you keep them. Importing a history backup shows no warning.
- Desktop: the import wizard looks for older wallets in
~/.epiconly; Choose a folder… picks any other folder. An imported wallet keeps its Epicbox server, and so its address, unless you choose the app's server. - Desktop: first-run Setup has Skip for now on every step.
- Desktop: closing the app while a payment is being sent asks first: keep it open, or close when the send finishes.
- Cancel explained: a Help topic says when cancelling a payment is certain and when it is not, and each Cancel button links to it.
- Phone: no more reminder to turn on notifications. They stay in Settings › Advanced, marked Experimental.
- Invoices (experimental): an invoice from the app is valid for about a day. A payment too close to its end is refused instead of being lost.
Fixed
- Prices in your currency show again.
- Pairing by words works whatever Epicbox server you use, and even when your network blocks one server. Copied pairing words paste cleanly, with or without their emoji.
- Desktop: a wrong password in Delete wallet stays in the dialog as an error.
- Desktop: Delete wallet also removes the files the wallet left in its folder.
- Passwords count characters the way the wallet core does, so a password the form accepts is never refused later.
- Phone: a running restore scan no longer holds up Delete this wallet.
- Desktop: Setup no longer comes back at every start when its choices cannot be saved.
For phones and desktops still on the first 26.10.16 files, this update also brings the fixes of the r2 rebuild: the phone's first screen asks Create or Restore, nodes on your home network or Tailscale work over http, and the desktop deletes the open wallet without hanging.
26.10.16
Windows, Linux and Android
Rebuild (r2)
The 26.10.16 files were rebuilt with three fixes; the version stays 26.10.16. Download again from the main page. Phones do not see an update by themselves this time: install the APK again.
- Phone: the first screen asks Create or Restore before the PIN, and Settings › Wallet has Restore from a phrase.
- Nodes on your home network or Tailscale (192.168.x, 10.x, 100.x,
.lanand.localnames) work over plain http. A local node that does not answer says "Not reachable from this computer". - Desktop: Delete wallet works on the open wallet; it no longer hangs.
How restore and import work, wallet by wallet: the restore guide.
Start fresh
26.10.16 is a new app: a new app ID, and on the desktop a new data folder, ~/.epic_cash_desktop. It does not open wallets made with 26.10.15 or older.
- In the old app, write down the recovery phrase of each wallet.
- Install 26.10.16 from the main page.
- Restore each wallet from its phrase. Balances come back from the chain. The restore guide shows each step.
- Check the balances, then uninstall the old app. On Android the new app installs next to the old one; on Windows the installer replaces it.
The desktop does not update itself to 26.10.16: install it by hand after step 1.
Contacts from the old GUI wallet: the desktop's import wizard brings them in. On a phone, the old app's update check now says "The update information is for another app". That is expected: install 26.10.16 from the main page.
- Pairing and Invoices, experimental and off by default: turn them on in Settings › Advanced › Experimental. Try them with the public demo at integration.btlabs.uk.
epic:payment links: a link or QR code fills in Send with the address, amount and note. One scanner reads addresses, payment links, QR Payment codes and pairing codes, and says what it found, including a code for the other network.- Payment methods: Epicbox, Link (HTTP, Tor) and Direct (QR Payment, File Transfer). Each has its own switch in Settings › Transactions.
- "Sender reports posted": an incoming payment the sender reports as posted says so. It shows as received only once a block confirms it.
- Cancel on an incoming payment waits 15 minutes after you accept it, and while the sender reports it posted. A send nobody answers within 24 hours is cancelled and its funds are spendable again.
- One contact list for all wallets on a device. The desktop imports contacts from the old GUI wallet.
- Offline mode keeps QR Payment and File Transfer, through the node in use, with a privacy note.
- Desktop: restoring from a recovery phrase no longer gets stuck in Setup with "The wallet is locked".
- New app IDs and, on the desktop, the data folder
~/.epic_cash_desktopon every system.
26.10.15
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: QR Payment, a new way to pay someone standing next to you. The sender shows the payment as a moving QR code; the receiver scans it, accepts, and shows a reply code; the sender scans the reply and the payment is posted. No server is needed between the phones.
- Phone: the code stays hidden until you tap Show QR, counts down 3, 2, 1, shows for 40 seconds, then hides again with Show again. It hides at once when you leave the app, and screenshots are blocked on that screen.
- Phone: both screens always say where you are and what comes next: "Show this to the recipient", "Scanned 5 of 7", "Waiting for the sender to scan", "Posted. Confirming 1/3", "Received".
- Payment methods have new names: Epicbox, Link Payment (over HTTP or Tor; it was Direct) and QR Payment. Send starts with the payment method, then the address.
- Phone: on new wallets File is hidden; Settings › Advanced › Transaction files brings it back. Phones that already had a wallet keep File as before. The desktop keeps File as an everyday method and has no QR Payment.
- New icons for the node, Epicbox, Link Payment, HTTP and Tor, on the phone and the desktop. The desktop sidebar shows each icon first and the signal bars on the right.
- Phone: Notifications moves from the Settings list to Settings › Advanced, marked Experimental.
- Help explains QR Payment and the new names in all six languages.
26.10.14
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: while an update installs, the notice says "Installing version 26.10.14…". The old line said the app closes and has to be opened again, which was not true. If the install cannot start, the notice says why.
- Phone: with Settings › Advanced › Send options on, Send lets you pick Smallest or All for this one payment, as on the desktop. The default still comes from Settings › Transactions.
- Phone: the Epicbox row in Settings › Privacy & network and the Home icon now say Connected, Connecting or Not connected. That is your wallet's connection. The server list still shows the server's own health, and when the server is up but your wallet is not connected it says "Server up · not connected" with Retry.
- Phone: a wallet whose Epicbox connection stays down for 30 seconds reconnects by itself, and a connection that failed outright is restarted when you come back to the app.
- Phone: Settings › Transactions keeps every row while you are on it. Turning Split change back on no longer makes the send defaults disappear.
- Help › Network modes: in Offline, give the node by its IP address, for example 192.168.1.20:3413. Names are not looked up.
26.10.13
Windows, Linux and Android
- A simpler wallet to start with. Expert parts are off until you want them: Outputs, technical details (kernel, slate ID, block height), send options, server details and recheck from a height; on the desktop also the built-in node and logs. Turn them on in Settings › Advanced. Something you are in the middle of never disappears.
- Transaction details show a small More link: it shows the technical rows once, without turning anything on.
- Settings › Transactions: which ways to pay Send and Receive offer (Epicbox always, Direct and File as you choose), the one Send starts on, and the send defaults. On the desktop this is the old Receiving page, with its Epicbox and HTTP settings.
- Network modes in Settings › Advanced. Standard works as before. Tor only keeps Tor on and never connects without it; until Tor is up, sending waits and says so. Offline makes no connection beyond this computer and your local network: you see your balance and history as last seen, and with a node on this computer or your network you can still make, sign and send payments by file or Direct to a local address.
- Node failover, on by default: when your node stops answering for about 30 seconds, the wallet uses the next working node in your list and says so. It goes back to your node at the next start, or when you pick one.
- Phone: a short tour after the first unlock shows where things are. Help › Show the tour again replays it. The desktop tour has a step for Advanced.
- Server lists: the field starts empty, to filter or add. Tap a node to switch at once. Switching Epicbox asks first, because your address changes.
- Desktop: the wallet locks itself after 15 minutes without the keyboard or mouse. Choose 1 to 60 minutes, or turn it off, in Settings › This wallet › Security. The phone offers the same times and still has Never.
- Help has new topics for Advanced, the network modes and payment methods, in all six languages.
26.10.12
Windows, Linux and Android
- Node and Epicbox: one list each, on the phone and the desktop. It starts with the public servers from status.btlabs.uk and the ones built in, then holds what you add. No more My and Public parts.
- The field at the top shows the server in use. Type to filter the list; when nothing matches, Add appears. Add checks the server first, then offers Switch. Text that is no address says "Not a server address. Use host or host:port."
- Every row has a bin, with Undo. The server in use can't be removed until you switch. "Restore the public list" brings back public servers you removed.
- Each server shows its operator's icon from status.btlabs.uk (over Tor when Tor is on), or its initials, with its health as a dot.
- Phone: only the list scrolls. The field and the node card stay at the top, and with the keyboard open the field stays in view.
- Desktop: Settings › Node, Settings › Receiving and Setup use the same list, with a visible Add. Picking a server asks before it switches. Setup has a switch to receive through Epicbox.
- Switching the Epicbox server still warns that your address changes.
26.10.11
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: one place to change servers. Settings › Privacy & network has one row for Node and one for Epicbox, with the server and its health; a tap opens the same list as the status icons on Home. The old Node and Epicbox page is gone.
- Phone: in those lists, My servers are the one in use and the ones you added. Every button does something, Add checks a node before it joins the list, and flooepicbox.btlabs.uk shows its health.
- Phone: notifications follow the Epicbox server. Leave flooepicbox.btlabs.uk and the phone is taken off it; come back and it signs up again. A switch that ends after you closed the list still counts.
- File payments: files are named by the first 8 characters of the payment, like 0a1b2c3d.tx and 0a1b2c3d.response, so a phone shows the whole name. On the desktop a file never replaces one with the same name: the new one gets -2. Files with any name still open.
- Desktop on Windows: when an update stops part way, the next start says "Update didn't finish. Try again." and installs it again. From this version on.
- Phone: an update is offered in one notice, wherever you are. Update shows the progress in the same notice. Close it and it stays closed for that version; Settings › About › Check for updates shows it again.
- Desktop: the sidebar notice is the one place that offers an update; Settings › About only says whether one is out.
- Phone: the Settings rows say what is inside each page, like Node · Epicbox · Tor. Security says "Back up your recovery phrase" until you have.
- Web demo: it opens straight in the wallet, with no PIN. Lock still works, and Unlock is one tap.
- Linux, no terminal needed: right-click the AppImage › Properties › Permissions › tick Allow executing file as program (Nemo, Nautilus, Dolphin and most file managers), then double-click to run. Or chmod +x it.
- flooepicbox.btlabs.uk passes payments on to other Epicbox servers reliably when several arrive at once.
26.10.10
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: a payment shows Confirming 1/3 and 2/3 as each block comes, also for sends. The wallet looks for a new block every 15 seconds instead of once a minute, so blocks that come close together are no longer skipped.
- Phone updates: before Android installs the update, a line says Epic Cash Mobile closes to install it; open it again afterwards.
- Desktop: the sidebar says when an update is out. It downloads in the app, is checked, and Restart to update installs it (Windows, and the Linux AppImage). From this version on.
- Help names Settings the way the app does (Security, Privacy & network, Wallet…) and its links open the right page, on the phone and the desktop, in every language. The phone's rescan (Settings › Wallet) is called Recheck balance, as on the desktop.
- Phone and desktop: after you switch the Epicbox server, your invoice address shows the new server right away. Before, it could keep the old one, and invoices sent there waited on that server.
- The invoice address text says it is separate from your payment address; switching the Epicbox server changes both.
- A wrong address now says every form that works: an Epicbox address, a Direct address (https://…) or an onion address, in Send and when you add a contact.
- Desktop on Linux: no more crash when a screen reader or accessibility tool disconnects during a key press.
- Desktop: screen readers can press the main buttons, sidebar items and relay chips, and text fields say their name.
26.10.9
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: every info icon opens a small sheet with the setting's name and the whole explanation, above the navigation bar. No more tooltips cut off at the bottom of the screen.
- Phone: the explanations say what each setting does. Split change: when a send would leave fewer than 3 spendable outputs, the change comes back as up to 4 outputs, so the next sends do not wait; each extra output costs 0.004 EPIC. Strategy for sends has one too, and so do Notifications, Use status.btlabs.uk, the invoice address, Advanced options and Send feedback. In all six languages.
- Phone: the update banner takes its own space and never covers the Outputs tiles or anything else.
- Phone: the Outputs list says the day an output came ("Received Yesterday") and wraps instead of cutting it off on a narrow screen.
- Phone updates: a download that Android cut while the app was in the background carries on from where it stopped instead of starting again from 0%, and it resumes by itself when you come back.
- Desktop: no changes; the version number moves with the phone.
26.10.8
Windows, Linux and Android
- Labels on payments, on the phone and the desktop: name a payment, and see it in Activity, the details, the CSV export and history backups. Payments a restore found get their details back.
- Payments are gold when sent, green when received and grey when cancelled.
- Two devices with one wallet: an answer meant for the other device is left for it, so its payment finishes when you open it. A payment the other device took no longer waits forever here.
- Paying an invoice: the payment also goes to the relay the invoice came from, it is sent again by itself, and after 20 minutes it says "Stalled" with Send again.
- A payment the network refused says "Not on the network" with Broadcast again at once, and the wallet tries again by itself.
- Phone, with Tor on: updates download over Tor from this version on (to get 26.10.8 itself, turn Tor off once); the node is back within seconds after a network change, not after a minute or two; turning Tor on no longer shows Epicbox offline.
- Phone: in the node and Epicbox server lists, a check marks the one in use, and the bin deletes one you typed in.
- Phone: a notice no longer moves the list under your finger, and the lock screen asks before it changes your Epicbox server.
- The payment method reads Epicbox, Direct · HTTP, Direct · Tor or File everywhere.
- A relay that does not answer is named, and Send warns about a relay the app does not know.
- Desktop: after you change the Epicbox server, Receive shows your new address at once.
- Desktop: the old wallet's history import asks when its details differ from yours; the payment-proof window shows only real data.
- About no longer links to the source code until it is public.
26.10.7
Windows, Linux and Android
- Desktop: the Outputs page is in the phone's order. The balance tiles come first, the outputs table right under them, and Split, Consolidate and the defaults for sends follow under Advanced.
- Desktop: each tile reads the label, how many outputs, then the value, and Total now says how many outputs it holds.
- Desktop: Strategy for sends and Split change show their explanation behind an info icon; the note about locked outputs sits on the Locked tile while a send is confirming.
- Phone: no changes; the version number moves with the desktop.
26.10.6
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: the Node and Epicbox lists (Settings › Privacy & network › Node and Epicbox) now work the same way. My list keeps the public server you use plus any you typed in. Pick another public server and it takes that place; the old one goes back to the public list.
- Phone: removing a server tells you how to get it back: pick a public one from the public list again, or type yours in again.
- Phone: the star on a node, and the bin on an Epicbox server, now always work, also on the one you're using. The wallet stays on it.
- Phone: screenshots of the recovery phrase are allowed, and there is a Copy button. It warns first; the clipboard is cleared after 60 seconds and when the wallet locks.
- Desktop: copying the recovery phrase warns first, as on the phone, and the clipboard is cleared after 60 seconds (was 30) and when the wallet locks.
- Desktop: the sidebar is in the phone's order: Activity, Outputs, Contacts, Invoices, Send, Receive.
- Phone updates, from this version on: once you allow installs from the app, the update carries on by itself after you unlock, even if Android restarted the app.
- Phone updates: if the install is cancelled, or its window closes when you leave the app, the app says the update wasn't installed and you can try again. No more stuck "Installing".
- History backup: notes on payments that a restore found by scanning now come back when you import the backup.
26.10.5
Windows, Linux and Android
- Desktop: a Direct send (HTTP or Tor) that didn't reach the other wallet now says "Not delivered" and has a Send again button, like Epicbox sends.
- Phone: with Tor on, if an update can't be downloaded, the app now says so and tells you what to do, instead of quietly going back.
26.10.4
Windows, Linux and Android
- Desktop: now in German, Polish, Russian, Chinese and Thai, with a language picker. Numbers follow your language.
- Better wording in German, Polish, Russian and Chinese.
- The Send review shows the fee you'll actually pay. If it changed while the review was open, you see the new fee before anything goes out.
- A paid invoice waiting for the other side to post it has a Send again button, and tells you when you can cancel it.
- Over Tor, if Tor gets stuck starting after the network drops in and out, the app restarts it for you.
- Desktop: messages count bytes like the phone (256 max), and the send dialog always keeps its Send button on screen.
- Desktop: on Outputs, the Confirming tile shows the value it counts, not 0.
- A cancelled send no longer says "Nothing was sent" when something was.
26.10.3
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: Thai is here.
- Help comes in your language, with a flag to switch.
- Flags in the language list.
- The real fix for the false "Epicbox offline": a background check for waiting payments could make the app think Epicbox was down. It can't anymore.
- Less battery and data: node checks reuse their connection, and the phone skips a double check of payments while it is listening.
- With Tor on, update checks and prices kept failing after the network changed. Fixed.
- Linux: no keyring, or a locked one? The app now tells you, instead of showing nothing.
- Desktop setup: "use node.epiccash.com while syncing" is actually remembered now.
- Desktop: if the app was killed, the built-in node it left running is stopped, so the next start no longer says the port is in use.
- Phone: the balance and confirmations keep updating while you're on another screen, like Outputs.
- Phone: after restoring from your phrase, Home shows the balance as soon as the scan finishes.
- The Outputs tiles add up properly now.
- Notices no longer push the list down under your finger.
- Windows: if creating a wallet fails because Windows can't protect the key, it says so.
- Turning Tor on no longer flashes "Epicbox offline" while Tor starts.
- Desktop: Split change tells you its limits (change of at least 1 EPIC, parts of at least 0.5 EPIC).
- Desktop: Receive from the internet shows your computer's real network address, not an idle VPN adapter's.
- Desktop: the Send review no longer claims the wallet was opened with the remembered password when it wasn't.
- Changing the Epicbox server changes your address: that's now a warning, not an error.
- Desktop: the "Local node not started" notice clears once the node is running or stopped.
- A payment that never reached the Epicbox relay now says "Not delivered", with a Send again button, and is sent again by itself when you open the wallet.
26.10.2
Windows, Linux and Android
- Phone: Settings is a short list: Security, Privacy & network, Wallet, Display, About and the Notifications switch. Each row shows its state on a second line. Send feedback is at the top of Help.
- Phone: Home shows small status icons instead of the big status card.
- Phone: the Epicbox picker remembers the relays you've used under My servers, and you can remove them.
- No more false "Epicbox offline", and no 2-minute "Node offline" after airplane mode. Drops shorter than 5 seconds don't show at all.
- Lock wallet stays locked. It doesn't jump straight back in with your fingerprint.
